Excel V+ & Laser Genesis: A Comprehensive Approach to Pigmentation, Redness, Vascular Concerns & Rosacea

When it comes to redness, rosacea, visible vessels and pigmentation, there is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution.

At EPICELL, we often see patients with several concerns occurring together — diffuse redness, visible capillaries, flushing, pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

This is where a combination approach using Excel V+ and Laser Genesis may be considered.

Excel V+ — Targeting Pigment & Vascular Concerns

Excel V+ is a dual-wavelength laser designed to target specific vascular and pigmented concerns.

It may be used for concerns such as:

  • Diffuse facial redness

  • Visible facial vessels and telangiectasia

  • Rosacea-related redness

  • Certain benign pigmentation

  • Solar lentigines

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Some vascular lesions

Excel V+ allows treatment to be tailored according to the colour, depth and characteristics of the concern being treated.

Importantly, not every pigmented lesion is suitable for laser. Any new, changing or suspicious lesion should be assessed appropriately before treatment.

Laser Genesis — A Broader Approach to Redness & Skin Quality

Laser Genesis is a non-ablative laser treatment that gently heats the skin to support collagen stimulation and address overall skin appearance.

It may be considered for:

  • Diffuse redness

  • Generalised flushing

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Enlarged pores

  • Fine lines

  • Mild textural concerns

  • Overall skin rejuvenation

Rather than targeting an individual vessel or pigmented spot, Genesis can provide a more diffuse treatment across the skin.

Why Combine Excel V+ & Genesis?

For some patients, the concerns are both specific and diffuse.

For example, you may have visible vessels that require targeted vascular treatment, alongside background redness and uneven skin quality.

In these cases, your clinician may recommend a combination approach:

Excel V+ can be used to specifically target selected vascular or pigmented concerns, while Laser Genesis can be used to treat the broader skin environment.

The treatments may be performed together or incorporated into a treatment plan over multiple appointments, depending on your skin and clinical assessment.

What About Rosacea?

Rosacea can involve persistent redness, flushing and visible superficial vessels. Laser treatment may help reduce the visible vascular component, but it does not permanently remove the underlying tendency to develop rosacea.

For some patients, a combination of targeted vascular treatment and a broader Genesis treatment may be appropriate.

Your plan may also include skincare, trigger management and medical care where required.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

Recovery varies according to the treatment performed.

Following Excel V+, you may experience temporary redness, warmth, swelling or sensitivity. When vascular or pigmented lesions are specifically targeted, the area may temporarily darken, swell or develop small crusts or bruising depending on the treatment settings.

Following Laser Genesis, the skin is generally left with mild redness or warmth, which typically settles relatively quickly.

Your clinician will explain your expected response before treatment.

Aftercare

For the first 24–48 hours:

  • Keep skincare gentle and hydrating.

Your personalised EPICELL aftercare instructions always take priority.

Why We Assess Before We Treat

At EPICELL, we don't simply choose a laser because a patient has “redness” or “pigmentation”.

We assess what is contributing to the appearance of the skin and determine whether the concern is vascular, pigmentary, inflammatory, textural — or a combination.

This allows us to consider whether Excel V+, Laser Genesis, a combination approach or another treatment pathway is most appropriate.

Your Treatment Plan Is Individual

Some patients may benefit from targeted Excel V+ treatment. Others may benefit from Genesis, while some may achieve a more comprehensive approach through a combination of both.

The aim is not simply to treat what you can see on the surface, but to develop a considered treatment plan for the overall health, appearance and long-term management of your skin.

If you are concerned about pigmentation, facial redness, visible vessels or rosacea, an EPICELL consultation allows us to assess your skin and determine the most appropriate treatment approach.
